We’ve been sold a lie by corporations trying to sell us garbage and junk, that healthy food isn’t worth eating because it tastes bad.
I know this, because as a millennial growing up, our generation ate a lot of crap…there were the dunkeroos, the pizza pops, the lunchables and the gushers. Our parents gave in to our cries for Mcdonald’s and Pizza Hut because they were, just like parents today, exhausted and simply trying their best. This is what we grew up believing was delicious.
Like myself, so many of my patients, friends and family members are desperate to learn more about how to lead healthy lives to ensure that future generations don’t have to put up with eating food that should never have been manufactured in the first place.
We can and NEED to be a part of this change.
The whole notion of healthy food being gross makes me really sad. The struggle often isn’t that it CAN’T be tasty, but that it’s too hard and time consuming to even put in the effort, and even if you do, it’ll still taste “healthy.” This is a myth that needs to be de-bunked.
The sugar and fat pumped into our junk foods helps to stimulate receptors in our brains that produce dopamine. Dopamine is one of your feel good hormones and searching for that next dose of feel good is a common struggle.
This is why so many of us comfort eat…Eating triggers an endorphin release which makes us feel better in the short term. In the long term though, we’re seeing crazy increases in lifestyle diseases like type 2 diabetes, obesity, issues with hormones and even with premature puberty.
My mission and push moving forward, is to help people like you find or grow healthy and safe food, AND help you learn to appreciate how delicious even the healthiest food can be.
